With the recent release of the DSi there has seen a great deal of discussion and speculation. The official word from Team Cyclops is that The DSi is NOT compatible with CycloDS Evolution or ANY other similar device.
However, a recent video now demonstrates that for some time they have had a working test setup that is capable of running CycloDS Evolution on the Nintendo DSi.
“We must stress however that this is part of our research only; there is still a great deal of work to be done before we can even decide if a DSi compatible device is viable or not.”
It is only of matter of time! Check out the video and see what we can expect in the near future.
Note: The CycloDS Evolution is currently not compatible with the Nintendo DSi
CycloDS Evolution Firmware v1.5 has been released and is available for download from the support page. Changes in this release include:
Added the in-game text reader feature

GBA support dramatically improved and moved out of BETA. Saving problems should now be resolved and the 1MBit save type is now supported without the need to manually patch games
Classic NES Series GBA games are now supported
Added “cycle skin” feature which is similar to the random skin feature, except that skins are cycled in order and are not chosen at random
I came across a very interesting post within the romulation forum today and thought I’d share it with you. The forum discusses the experiences of a guy who goes by the name of Nightroad. His post was in order to answer a question posted by someone who was seeking advice on the pros and cons of the R4 DS Revolution and CycloDS Evolution
What are the pros and cons of each one? And explain why you think it is better.
Two months ago, I wrote a blog post about the rumour and speculation of a new handheld from Nintendo with dual touch screen functionality to be released sometime next year.
Japanese newspaper Nikkei Net revealed today on their website that part of the rumour can be put to rest. Nintendo will release a successor to the DS Lite and much earlier than next year.
The most common questions that I get regarding the Cyclo DS Evolution are based around how to tap into the multimedia player capabilities. The answer is a multimedia player for the Nintendo DS called Moonshell. Moonshell is a hombrew application that will enable you to read text files, view images, play audio and video.
Nintendo has denied rumours from industry sources outside Nintendo that a dual touch screen handheld will be released, as an updated model to its predecessor, the Nintendo DS Lite. According to the various rumours, the new Nintendo DS will be released sometime in the beginning of next year, with some sources even hinting at a possible release for the festive season.
According to gamesindustry.biz, Nintendo has branded talks of a new handheld as “rumour and speculation”.
